SAMBO DASUKI – We Bought Weapons, Nigerian Soldiers Are Just Cowards!

In this age of information where what we say are documented either in written for video format, it is very important we say the truth at all times otherwise our lies might come back to haunt us. In 2015 the proposed Date for the Nigerian president elections was postponed for 3 months, and the National security adviser Ex Col.Dasuki Sambo explained that this was necessary to curtail the menace of Boko Haram.  He also went to London to sell the postponement especially since the opposition party (APC) then were not happy about it. Col. Sambo Dasuki spoke at the prestigeous Chetam House London.. Below are excerpts of his speech:

Nigeria’s struggle against Boko Haram is being undermined by “cowardly” soldiers who use “every excuse in this world” to avoid combat

“For anybody who has that much in store to say he is poorly armed or poorly equipped is being disingenuous to say the least,”  “Anybody who believes that he is not well armed, he is not telling the truth.”

“Unfortunately, we have a lot of cowards. There was a problem in the recruitment process – we all admit, that is all admitted. We have people who are using every excuse in this world not to fight. If you don’t want to fight, it’s not your fault: get out of the army. If you are there, there are certain things you are expected to do. For now, fighting is one of those things. If you don’t want to fight, don’t make excuses and say you are not armed, you are not equipped.”

“We have a lot of people who joined [the army] because they wanted a job, not because they wanted a career in the military. Most of them are the ones who are running away and who are telling stories of poor equipment and stuff like that,”

Col. Dasuki is currently facing corruption charges where it was alleged that at least $2billion dollars meant for the procurement of weapons was shared among friends, politicians, military officials and many more. The Nigeria military Chief who was in charge then (Alex Badeh) has also come out to say they never bought a single weapon. He said the Nigerian military probably have the oldest weapons in the world as nothing has been bought for so many years. With these new developments, the Brave and gallant Nigerian Soldiers who complained about poor weapons have been vindicated
